EPR Cancer Pathway Algorithm; development and implementation in our Colorectal Big Room : Lancashire Teaching Hospitals

Following a decade of attempts to manage the increasing numbers of referrals for suspected colorectal cancer we have created a colorectal assessment team and embedded a clinical decision algorithm to support Advanced Specialist Practitioner clinics. We have significantly reduced the waiting times for initial consultations, time to diagnostic tests and results. This equates to 58,752 fewer days worry for our patients and represents a sustainable low carbon footprint model of care. This was achieved through the Flow Coaching Academy Colorectal Big Room and Digital EPR optimisation programme. The results are being shared across our ICS, FCA network and wider NHS.
