Implantable Loop Recorder - Review of Service : Southern Health and Social Care Trust

Our patients waited greater than twelve months for insertion of ILR (implantable loop recorder) as we had only one session per week and one Consultant operator. We established a multidisciplinary team and using Quality improvement methodology we now have a Cardiac Clinical Physiology led service for insertion of ILR which is patient centred, safe, cost effective and has reduced waiting times to two weeks.
