Project BONES: BHR Orthopaedics NHS Elective Surgery : Barking Havering Redbridge Trust and Practice Plus Group Hospital Ilford

BHRUT held a “ Project BONES ”(BHRUT Orthopaedics NHS Elective Surgery) to tackle the backlog of patients awaiting surgery due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Trauma and Orthopaedics department lead the project in unison with the BHRUT management team. A pilot project which included all the clinical and non-clinical members of the team who were responsible for delivering NHS Orthopaedics elective surgery to our deserving patient cohort affected by orthopaedic conditions warranting elective operations. BONES project is first of its kind which has never been attempted and delivered in NHS
