Operation Shield: Coventry's COVID-19 response to highest risk patients : University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire Trust

National guidance on March 21st specified the need for shielding and protecting people, defined on medical grounds as extremely vulnerable from COVID-19. Having identified those considered at the highest risk, we needed to create and deliver a safe phlebotomy service for all 'shielded' patients across Coventry and Warwickshire. Using an automated electronic scheduling for appointments with SwiftQueue, was a first and saved time for patients not having to go online to book their own appointments. The service redesign has led to collaborative working with local stakeholders on a wider population health management agenda.
