Ophthalmic Innovation: OpenEyes : Bolton FT

Over the last few years, Ophthalmology at Bolton Foundation Trust has become a beacon site for ophthalmic imaging maturity and the deployment and advancement of the open source eye care EPR, OpenEyes. The programme is clinically led by Mr David Haider, consultant ophthalmologist. Bolton FT's staff have created a national standard in this area and also transformative and innovate improvements to the OpenEyes platform. The system goes beyond digital records, to include device integration, FP10 prescriptions, surgical outcome reporting, graphical tools, virtual clinics and a surgical whiteboard. OpenEyes improves quality of care and offers exceptional financial value to the NHS.
