The NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHS E&I) Top 10 medicines digital tool helps NHS trusts and systems to identify significant productivity gains, enabling them to prioritise activities that drive improved access for patients to high cost drugs and best value-for-money for medicines.

The Top 10 highlights opportunities to make savings using more cost-effective medicines (biosimilar or new generic products), and through recommending changes in clinical practice supporting effective use of resources in acute care.

The NHS E&I Model Hospital portal is used to provide monthly real time medicines use data by trust, delivery over time and benchmarking against peers.
