Championing Wellness - community-based blood pressure testing : Cheshire & Merseyside Health and Care Partnership

Wellpoint Kiosks are part of a whole-system approach to community BP detection across Cheshire and Merseyside. C&M system partners have embraced innovative technology to help tackle high blood pressure, a significant cause of premature mortality and health inequalities. This has produced tangible results (qualitative and quantitative) in scale of BP testing and kiosk popularity, and BP diagnosis in C&M is >2% better than the England average. Being able to extend BP testing into the community has been highly effective in getting at risk individuals diagnosed. This shows the potential for public and patient empowerment by extending the reach of health services.
