Implementation of Radiographer Led Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIED) monitoring for patients undergoing Radiotherapy : Clatterbridge Cancer Centre FT and Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital FT
The aim of the project was to improve patient safety and clinical experience for those undergoing radiotherapy with a Cardiac Implantable Electronic Device (CIED). This was achieved through a complete redesign of the radiotherapy provision for CIED patients. Multi-disciplinary working and collaboration between Clatterbridge Cancer Centre (CCC) and Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital (LHCH) facilitated the implementation of a high quality, safe, robust and sustainable radiographer-led pacemaker monitoring service, for the benefit of patients across Merseyside and Cheshire (M&C).
