Integrated Urgent Care Project : West Kent Integrated Care Partnership

In 2017, NHS England and NHS Improvement published the Next Steps on the NHS Five Year Forward View which highlighted the importance of delivering an integrated urgent care (IUC) service to help address the fragmented nature of out-of-hospital services. The aim was to provide care closer to people’s homes and help tackle the rising pressures on all urgent care services and emergency admissions. The WK ICP includes Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells Trust, Kent and Medway CCG, Kent Community Health foundation NHS Trust and West Kent Primary Care with the support of the JPMO worked with SECAmb/NHS 111 to implement the system.
